In
this lunchtime lecture, international public opinion expert
Steven Kull discusses how America and American policies are
viewed throughout the world. Using political cartoons from
Drawing Back, Kull will discuss whether these images
of America from abroad are truly representative of how the
world looks at the United States.
Steven Kull is the director of the Program on International
Policy Attitudes at the University of Maryland. His articles
have appeared in Political Science Quarterly, Foreign Policy,
Public Opinion Quarterly, Harpers and The Washington Post
His most recent book, co-authored with I.M. Destler, is Misreading
the Public: The Myth of a New Isolationism.

A Day with Kevin Kallagher (KAL) Date: September 16, 1pm
A one-day presentation and master-class by world-renowned editorial cartoonist
Kevin Kallagher (or KAL), formerly with The Baltimore Sun (and now with The Economist),
one of the most important political artists of his era. KAL will discuss his career
and his work through a series of illustrated lectures followed by an introductory
hands-on workshop. The program will closely follow the format of his upcoming
Walters Art Museum seminar series, where his work will be celebrated and honored
all summer in a one-person exhibition titled ' Mightier Than the Sword: The Satirical
Pen of Kevin Kallagher', which opens on June 18, 2006 |
